Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 seems to have officially ended the jinx when it comes to Bollywood’s recent dismal record in terms of box office collections. The film had crossed the Rs 50 crore mark over the weekend and is on the fast track to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
The Kartik Aaryan starrer horror comedy minted almost Rs 10.75 crores on Monday, its fourth day at the box office. Although the film was unable to match yesterday’s record, when it earned almost Rs 23.5 crores, the day 4 collections were really well considering that it was a Monday.
On its opening day, on Friday May 20, the film had managed to mint over Rs 14 crore. It had raked in over Rs 40 crores over the weekend. The film’s total box office earnings, including Monday’s, comes around to about Rs 66.71 crores.
The film has earned a place as the biggest box office opener in Aaryan’s career. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is also the film with the fourth best opening in Bollywood, when it comes to post-pandemic releases.
The film had witnessed several ‘housefull’ theatres on its opening weekend. In fact, Aaryan himself had taken to his official social media to talk about the same, revealing that he himself was unable to avail tickets to a show. The actor had also thanked fans for their support.
In addition to Aaryan, the film also stars Kiara Advani, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Sanjay Mishra. Anees Bazmee directed the film.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is now playing in theatres. It will be made available to stream on Netflix after its theatrical run.
