Did Kartik Aaryan predict Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s box office success? Read and find out

Kartik Aaryan is currently basking in the success of his film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The film, which released in theatres on May 20, had a terrific opening, one of the best in Bollywood in the post pandemic era. Many are also claiming that the film has managed to break Bollywood’s ‘dry spell’ when it comes to box office earnings. Did the film’s roaring success come as a surprise to Aaryan? An interview of the star seems to have the answer to this question.

In conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the star talked about how the film had been the ‘talk of the town’ ever since its first poster had come out. Saying how the film has figured in a lot of conversations among people, the actor revealed that the initial reaction he had got from people was that they ‘really’ wanted to watch the movie. Being cautiously optimistic, the star had also added that he ‘hoped’ people would go to theatres to watch it.

Aaryan also hoped that people would go to theatres to see Kangana Ranaut’s Dhaakad, which also opened on the same day as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Talking about how he liked Dhaakad’s trailer, the actor said that he hoped people would watch it in addition to his film. Dhaakad, however did not manage to match Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’s box office success.

In addition to Aaryan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 also stars Kiara Advani, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Sanjay Mishra in pivotal roles. The film was directed by Anees Bazmee.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is now showing in theatres and will be available for streaming on Netflix after its theatrical run.
