Popular Indian record label and production company T-Series, headed by Bhushan Kumar, has made its foray into the OTT space. The company announced that it will now act as a producer on web series spanning different genres.

In a press release, Kumar, the chairman and managing director of the company, expressed his elation at the move. Kumar talked about how his company was taking forward their passion for telling powerful stories through the new move, and said they wanted to offer ‘binge-worthy’ content tailored for viewers across the globe.

The businessman also revealed the names of some of the creators they would be working with. They include Aanand L Rai, Anubhav Sinha, Nikhil Advani, Hansal Mehta, Sanjay Gupta, Bejoy Nambiar, Suparn S Varma (The Family Man), Mikhil Musale (Made In China), and Soumendra Padhi (Jamtara), among others.

Kumar also mentioned how the new budget, announced by the Finance Minister recently, can help with better internet penetration which can be expanded with the upcoming projects related to the 5G spectrum, opening up more markets for the OTT space. “It has been projected that Rural India will be connected via optic fibres by the year 2025 and this essentially means that the internet will be easily and cost-effectively available which surely is a great boost to the world of OTT and content creators all over.” he said, ending with how this would aid with creating more audiences for OTT platforms.

T-Series was founded in 1983 by Gulshan Kumar. The company has produced numerous successful works in Bollywood cinema as well as independent music, in addition to producing films as well.
