Now that the much-awaited ‘Bigg Boss 17’ ultimately got premiered yesterday, this season will be seeing an extremely cross section of contestants who will be competing with each other for the much-coveted prize. This season’s contestants range from a bike vlogger to a couple at loggerheads, to an ex-crime reporter to a foreign pharmacist amongst others! To begin with, who is Jigna Vora?
Jigna Vora is an ex-crime reporter, who, in her own words, ‘used to cover breaking news, until one day, with a change of fate, she herself became breaking news’! Just as when Salman Khan was talking to her about her past, many felt that she would become emotional and break down. To which, Jigna Vora, armed with oodles of confidence, told Salman Khan that ‘main rone waale mein se nahi, rulaane waalon mein se hoon’ (I am not someone who will cry… I am someone who will make others cry). Well… that’s Jigna Vora for you!

Is Jigna Vora controversial?
Well… after reaching the pinnacle in her career spanning many years as a crime journalist, she was falsely accused in the murder case of another crime journalist in the year 2011. Following which, she was jailed for nine months. It is here, she wrote a book of all her experiences. And this book, later, formed the crux of the Netflix show ‘Scoop’, which had Karishma Tanna playing the lead role. Today, Jigna Vora is a practicing Tarot card reader, healer and an astrologer.

No. This will be the first time when she is participating in a reality show.

Why is Jigna Vora on the Salman Khan hosted ‘Bigg Boss 17’?
By her own admission, Jigna Vora is in the Bigg Boss 17 house for two reasons. First reason that she stated was that, she wanted the world to know that she is still as strong as ever. And the second and the most important reason that she stated was that, it was her son’s wish that, given a chance she should participate in the Bigg Boss show. Seeing her extremely emotional bonding with her son, Salman Khan allowed Jigna Vora to make a video call to her US based son, who was working as a chef there. A visibly emotional Jigna Vora promised her son that, she will do her best while inside the Bigg Boss house. Amidst all this, Jigna’s son also made a big revelation that his mother is an extremely great cook.

What can one expect from Jigna Vora in the Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss 17?
Since she has been an experienced crime journalist, it’s a given that she is expected to know the knack of dealing with people of different temperaments, something which becomes a prime requisite for every contestant who goes inside the Bigg Boss house. It will be great to see the way in which the no-nonsense Jigna Vora deals with different situations, tasks and also handle the other contestants.
