Popular TV actor, best known for his role as Lord Shiva in Hara Hara Mahadev, and now, Bigg Boss Kannada 10’s third runner-up, Vinay Gowda has done roles in a couple of Kannada films, but his movie career is yet to pick up. That, he hopes, will change post Bigg Boss Kannada and the first indication to that effect is that he will soon be seen as the main antagonist in an A-list star’s film.
This revelation has led to speculation that Vinay will be seen in Bigg Boss Kannada host Kiccha Sudeep’s return to direction, King Kiccha, which the latter will begin working on once he’s done with Max. During the Bigg Boss Kannada finale, when Vinay was eliminated, Sudeep had said that the former had won his heart too. Following Vinay’s ‘untimely’ early eviction, there were whispers that the Bigg Boss Kannada team would look at making the stint worthwhile for him and a role in a big film is apparently the payoff.
Vinay, who had committed to a Hindi web series before heading into the Bigg Boss Kannada house, will finish that before announcing work back home in Kannada, but he says that he’s hopeful of good opportunities coming his way now. Addressing why audiences probably didn’t connect with him and found him negative, Vinay had said that they’d unfortunately based their perception of him on the little they saw during the daily episodes, which was only a minute fraction of what was going on in the house.
The episodes, obviously, focused on the tasks and games in the house and in such circumstances, he admits that tempers flared and harsh words were exchanged, which created a negative image for him among audiences. The actor was, however, grateful to his fans who saw beyond this image and kept him going on the show for the entire duration and said that even though he did not win the title, he considers himself the people’s champion.
