A little over a week into Bigg Boss Kannada 12, and there’s already drama that’s not really in the control of the showrunners. On October 7, Jollywood Studios (erstwhile Innovative Film City), was ordered shut by the Pollution Control Board, for failing to respond to a notice about the alleged lack of a sewage treatment plant (STP) attached to the Bigg Boss Kannada 12 house on the premises. It is being reported that as much as 2.5 lakh litres of water was being used every day in the house, which would require a mandatory STP to recycle and reuse water.

According to reports, the house has been sealed by government officials, with water and electricity shut off. The buzz online is that the house will remain closed for up to 15 days, during which time the showrunners are expected to find a solution to the ongoing problem. All the contestants will, reportedly, be moved to a hotel in the city and will remain there until the issue is resolved. However, should there be further delays in complying to the terms and conditions mandated by the pollution control board, it could spell trouble for the show.
In the official communication, the Board stated, "The said premises are being used for large-scale entertainment and studio operations without obtaining the required Consent for establishment and Consent for Operation under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981." In view of the violations observed, the notice stipulated that all operations be closed with immediate effect and furnish an explanation within a stipulated period.
Sudeep fans, meanwhile, think that the Bigg Boss Kannada 12 closure has come as an unexpected boon, a time that they reckon the superstar ought to utilise to finish the shoot of his film, Mark. The actor has been aiming for an end of October deadline to wrap it up even with schedules of Bigg Boss during weekends. He could now aim to complete it even earlier.
