Despite being unceremoniously ousted from the Bigg Boss house during its latest season, Dr Robin Radhakrishnan has arguably emerged as its most popular contestant. The anchor and motivational speaker has now signed his second film, months after his exit from the show.

Recently, the makers of Unni Mukundan’s big budget actioner Bruce Lee revealed that they have roped in Dr Robin to play the antagonist in the movie, which will be helmed by Pulimurugan director Vysakh. Scripted by Udaykrishna, the movie is touted to be made on a budget of over Rs 50 crore.

The movie was announced officially at a function in Kozhikode on Wednesday that was attended by Unni, Vysakh, Udaykrishna as well as Dr Robin. The film, which is expected to be an all-out action entertainer, will be mounted on a massive scale and will release in several languages apart from Malayalam.

Dr Robin, meanwhile, has also signed a movie with producer Santhosh T Kuruvilla, who had bankrolled Kunchacko Boban and Gayathrie Sankar’s latest superhit Nna, Thaan Case Kodu. The project was announced in June by Mohanlal. Santosh had told OTTplay that though they were considering two scripts for Dr Robin and will take a decision on which to go ahead with soon.

Meanwhile, Bruce Lee is the biggest project in Unni Mukundan’s career. The actor had initially planned to produce the film, but then opted out as it had to be made on a big scale. When it was first announced, the movie was set to be made on a budget of Rs 25 crore. This, however, has now doubled keeping in mind the quality of recent action films across industries to hit theatres.

Vysakh and Udaykrishna are also awaiting the release of their next film Monster, which has Mohanlal in the lead. The movie will hit theatres on September 30, as per reports.
