Bigg Boss Tamil 5: The much-awaited reality show will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from October 3

It was almost a month ago that Kamal Haasan unveiled the first promo of Bigg Boss Tamil 5, leaving his hardcore fans and those who are awaiting the show surprised and happy. The stylish promo had the legend asking Aarambikalama (the popular catch phrase from the teaser of his upcoming film Vikram). 

Later, the team behind the show came up with another promo featuring the star with a wedding as its backdrop. Though the makers of the much-awaited reality show are tight-lipped about its contestants, several names started doing the rounds on social media since then.

The social media account of Vijay TV has now revealed that the fifth season of the show will be telecast from October 3, 6pm. The show, which will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar, was initially supposed to commence in June, but the second wave of COVID-19 made the makers postpone their plans. The latest promo of the show has Kamal, who is seen dashing in a casual blazer and a jeans, trying different dialects and voice modulation in front of a mirror. He then turns towards the camera and says, "Do you know what is the most difficult thing to do? It's nothing, but to be ourselves in this house."

Many fans of Bigg Boss Tamil have been eagerly awaiting an official announcement on the list of contestants. They hope an update will be provided by the makers any time soon. The previous season, which commenced on October 2020 and ended on January 2021, had Aari Arjunan as its winner. A few speculative names from the contestant list which is doing the rounds on social media include Pradhayini, Abhinay, Masoom Shankar, Pavani Reddy, Suzane George, Aishwarya, Cooku With Comali fame Kani and Sunitha. Actress-filmmaker Lakshmy Ramakrishnan recently took to Twitter to clarify that she is not a contestant in the show, contrary to rumours of her being a part of it.
