The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film Thalavan have announced the theatrical release date of the movie. The investigative thriller, starring Biju Menon and Asif Ali in lead roles, will hit the big screen on February 23.
The pair appeared in police uniforms on the movie's motion poster, which also included a captivating soundtrack. One of the most-anticipated Mollywood films, Thalavan, is directed by Jis Joy. Two police officers of different ranks who are caught up in an ego clash form the crux of this movie.
Dileesh Pothen plays a crucial role in this investigative thriller as well. Anushree and Miya are playing the female leads, with a supporting cast that includes Kottayam Nazeer, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Joji K John, Dinesh, Anuroop, Nandan Unni, and Bilas.
Arun Narayan and Sijo Sebastian have bankrolled the movie under the banner of Arun Narayan Productions and London Studios. Sharath Perumbavoor and Anand Thevarakkattu have penned the screenplay, while the camera work for this movie is helmed by Saudi Vellakka-fame Sharan Velayudhan. Deepak Dev has composed the soundtracks for Thalavan.
The motion poster was revealed by Asif Ali and Biju Menon through their official social media accounts. “You are in the battle forever with the one who is as strong as you!" they wrote, arousing a great deal of excitement among their followers.
Viewers also praised the actors' previous roles as police officers, making them excellent choices for this movie.
The film evokes high anticipation among the audience, with Jis Joy having a theatrical release after a short gap. His last theatrical release was Kunchacko Boban-starrer Mohan Kumar Fans in 2021. The director is well-known to the Malayali audience as Allu Arjun's voice in his Malayalam-dubbed movies, as well as for his films such as Bicycle Thieves, Sunday Holiday, and Innale Vare.

Biju Menon portrayed a police officer in several films, including Christian Brothers, Twenty-20, and Baba Kalyani. Asif Ali also played a cop in Manoj Palodan's Ithu Thaanda Police and Jeethu Joseph's Kooman.
