Birthmark, the recently released Tamil film, starring actors Shabeer Kallarakkal and Mirnaa Menon in the lead roles, is set to make its streaming debut soon. The film will be available on Aha Tamil from March 29 onwards, the streaming platform made the announcement recently. It is directed by debutant filmmaker Vikram Shreedharan.

Birthmark stars Shabeer Kallarakkal and Mirnaa Menon in the lead roles. They play a Christian married couple who are expecting their first child. The film hit the big screens on February 23 and is directed by debutant filmmaker Vikram Shreedharan. A psychological thriller, Birthmark revolves around a pregnant couple who arrive at a natural birthing village. But something turns out to be fishy when the wife begins to feel uneasy with each passing day, while her husband’s behavioural pattern turns strange and aloof.
Team of Birthmark
The film marks the second collaboration of the lead actors after they were last seen in the Telugu film Naa Saami Ranga. Apart from Shabeer and Mirnaa, the film also stars PR Varalakshmi, Indirajith, Porkodi, and Deepthie, among others. The film marks Vikram’s directorial debut who has also produced it along with Sriram Sivaraman under the banner Sapiens Entertainment. Anusuya Vasudevan has penned the additional screenplay of the film.

Birthmark is shot by cinematographer Udhay Thangavel, with Iniyavan Pandiyan handling the edits. Vishal Chandrashekhar, who has scored music for films like Sita Ramam and Oh Manapenne, scored for this film as well.
Birthmark reception
Birthmark received average reviews upon its release. OTTplay review of the film reads, “Birthmark has the potential to offer a lot but fails to do so. The writing becomes a serious issue after a point, and just mere mystery brewing does not help.” Birthmark is one of the few Tamil films which has a pregnant woman as the protagonist.
