The trailer of Birthmark, the upcoming Tamil film starring actors Shabeer Kallarakkal and Mirnaa Menon in the lead roles, was released by the makers on social media on Thursday.
The film is set to release theatrically on February 23. Touted to be an intense thriller drama, the film is written and directed by filmmaker Vikram Shreedharan. Birthmark revolves around a pregnant couple who arrive to a natural birthing village, but something seems off about the place.

Trailer of Birthmark
The two-minute-long trailer starts off in monochrome shots introducing Shabeer as Danny and Mirnaa as Jenny. Backed with intense background beat, we see Jenny being pregnant, while Shabeer takes her to a birthing village. There is suspicion looming, as we see something off about Danny. As the couple share some moments, we also see different shades of the Danny coming out, from benevolence to suspecting. He also possesses a gun, which his wife finds out at one point of time. The trailer concludes with Jenny experiencing pain in her stomach, leaving her fate unknown.
All about Birthmark
Birthmark will be Shabeer and Mirnaa’s second collaboration; they were last seen sharing screen space in the Telugu film Naa Saami Ranga. Apart from them, the film also stars PR Varalakshmi, Indirajith, Porkodi, and Deepthie, among others.
Birthmark is directed by Vikram Shreedharan in his directorial debut, who will also double up as producer and back the film along with Sriram Sivaraman under the banner Sapiens Entertainment. Anusuya Vasudevan has penned the additional screenplay of the film.
The film's technical crew consists of Udhay Thangavel as the cinematographer, with Iniyavan Pandiyan handling the edits. Vishal Chandrashekhar, who has scored music for films like Sita Ramam and Oh Manapenne, will be composing for Birthmark as well.
Meanwhile, Shabeer was last seen in the recently released Sankranthi film Naa Saami Ranga, starring Nagarjuna in the lead role. The actor, who works in Tamil and Malayalam films, was also seen alongside Dulquer Salmaan in King of Kotha and Trisha-starrer The Road. Mirnaa, in 2023, had a fantastic run, with two of her releases making a huge noise, Jailer and Burqa. While she played alongside Rajinikanth in Jailer as his daughter-in-law, in Burqa, Mirnaa's performance received a positive reception.
