Bison Kaalamaadan will be hitting big screens on October 17, just ahead of Diwali. The film will be capitalising the festive weekend, but will be sharing screens with two other Tamil films; namely Harish Kalyan-starrer Diesel, and Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude.

The Bison Kaalamaadan trailer was released by the makers a few days ago. The trailer, which has garnered over 8 million views, shows Dhruv Vikram at the heart of film, who has wanted to play kabaddi since his childhood. The trailer does not reveal the plot, but carries the aesthetics of Mari Selvaraj films, including that of animal metaphors and silhouettes. The Bison trailer shows a transformation of Dhruv Vikram as a skilled sportsperson.

Bison Kaalamaadan's main plot has not been revealed, but is expected to be on the lines of Mari Selvaraj’s previous works; a social commentary on societal injustice and oppression. Dhruv Vikram plays the role of a kabbadi player and was trained by Manathi Ganesan.

Written and directed by filmmaker Mari Selvaraj, the filmmaker has chosen to work with composer Nivas K Prasanna for the first time rather than his regular collaborator Santhosh Narayan. Bison is shot by cinematographer Ezhil Arasu and edited by Sakthi Thiru. Kumar Gangappan and Dhilip Subbarayan are the art director and action coordinator of the film, respectively.
