Dwayne Johnson is gearing up to make his grand entry into the DC universe with Black Adam. The film has definitely found a place as one of the most highly awaited superhero films of the year. Johnson has finally treated fans to a first look poster for the film and unveiled the release date for the film’s trailer.

The actor shared the poster on his official social media handles, which featured him all suited up as the titular superhero. As Johnson stares into the distance with an intense look on his face, a glow can be seen on his scorched suit. Part of the post’s caption read “The world needed a hero. It got Black Adam”. The actor also teased that “Hierarchy of power in the DC Universe will change”. The film’s trailer will be released tomorrow.

The upcoming film is based on the DC comics character of the same name who was initially introduced as the nemesis of Shazam. The character will be making his live action debut in the upcoming film. Black Adam was initially envisioned as a pivotal character in the Shazam! Films, but the makers later decided to give the character his own standalone film. Meanwhile Shazam! Fury of the Gods, starring Zachary Levi, will be released in December this year.

In addition to Johnson, the upcoming film also features Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman,Qunetessa Swindell as Cyclone, Sarah Shahi as Adrianna Tomaz, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer and Bodhi Sabongui also feature in pivotal roles. The film was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.

Black Adam will be released in theatres on October 21, 2022.
