Egyptian director Ali El Arabi brings together Indian stars Neha Dhupia and Adil Hussain in his latest project, Blue 52. This cross-cultural drama follows the emotional journey of a young Indian soccer fan navigating the world of migrant labour in Qatar. Dhupia and Hussain will deliver nuanced performances, capturing the complexities of family dynamics and personal ambition within a captivating international narrative.

Fueled by a burning passion for soccer and a yearning to meet his idol Lionel Messi, Ashish, a young man with a fervent heart and empty pockets, faced a seemingly hopeless obstacle – the World Cup in Qatar. Travel and tickets were a distant dream, but Ashish refused to let the distance dim his vision. He comes up with a daring plan to get as close to Messi as possible, even if it means working as a stadium worker in Qatar. The film Blue 52 will exhibit his extraordinary journey, a testament to the power of dreams and the unwavering spirit of a true fan.

About Neha Dhupia and Adil Hussain's roles in Blue 52

According to Variety, Blue 52 promises a poignant family tale set against the backdrop of a serene Kerala island. Neha Dhupia and Adil Hussain bring depth and experience to the roles of Ashish's parents, while Yadav Shashidhar breathes life into the son who navigates life in this idyllic yet isolated haven. Blue 52 also marks the second collaboration of Egyptian Cinematographer Mahmoud Basher and director Ali El Arabi. The duo previously worked in Captains of Zaatari, which made a big splash at the Sundance Film Festival in 2021.

Blue 52 will be showcasing some behind-the-scenes of the workers at the stadium, their lives and career, who worked at the World Cup 2022.
