Since Abhishek Bachchan stepped into the shoes of Bob Biswas, all the eyes were turned to Saswata Chatterjee. The latter who nailed the cold-blooded serial killer in Vidya Balan starrer Kahaani, was asked many times about him being replaced in the spin-off Bob Biswas.
Now the actor has opened up about it and stated that he was not disappointed with the decision of replacement. “Why should I be disappointed? They are making it for the Hindi market; they will look for a bigger name,” he said in an interaction with Hindustan Times. He also added that he did several characters in between and had he been upset, he would have given so many statements as well.
Chatterjee seems to be proud of turning the character to an iconic one that someone like Abhisek could redo it. If his 10-minute character has created an impact to make a full-length movie with someone like Abhishek playing the role, indeed it is a euphoric news for Chatterjee.
The actor further revealed that neither Abhishek nor Ghosh consulted with him while making Bob Biswas. But he thinks that if a character is to be played by two different actors, it should be in two different ways. He quoted the example of James Bond and talked about how differently each actor has dealt with the character. Now that Bob has become a franchise, he thinks everyone should go to the cinemas with open minds.

Chatterjee has not yet seen the movie, so he said he couldn’t comment about Abhishek, when asked about his performance. He added that he loves Abhishek, and being a star son himself, he can relate to him about what he must be going through in his career.
