Bobby Deol on nervousness while promoting Aashram: 'Had a vertigo attack'

Ek Badnaam Aashram Season 3 Part 2, the highly anticipated second installment of Bobby Deol's serial, has debuted. Anxiety over marketing the show for the first time caused the actor to have a vertigo attack, which he just discussed in an interview with Filmfare. Additionally, he said that he had kept his parents in the dark about his casting decision.

Nervousness over promotions and playing an antagonist

Bobby reflected on the times he was anxious about promotions when asked if he still gets apprehensive about them. He admitted that he was definitely nervous because it was his first time portraying an antagonist. Because he suffers from vertigo, the actor vividly recalls the day when he had the attack while promoting it. There was probably a lot of anxiety and worry about the reception he would get for portraying such a role.

Bobby continued by stating that performers could allow the opinions of others to overpower them, leading them to question their own abilities. He made it clear that an actor's vulnerability becomes apparent when they succumb to brainwashing and lose faith in their own abilities. So, instead of going after their dreams, a lot of people settle for the simpler way out. Additionally, he mentioned that playing Baba Nirala was not an easy choice for him as he was relaunching his career and taking on a part he had never played before.

Keeping the show a secret from his parents

Bobby went on to say that he was very nervous, and he remembered keeping the show a secret from his parents. Typically, filmmakers watch their films before a premiere, but in this case, he was part of the crowd. The actor had never before sat back and enjoyed an episode with the entire nation tuned in. His parents were taken aback when messages began pouring in and his phone continued ringing. The actor had never told them he was doing the show—even if they attempted to influence him. One can never be sure of people's reactions when they have a daring persona like this. Friends still call his mom to find out when the next season will be out; she got a deluge of calls.

The crime drama series Aashram was created and directed by Prakash Jha. Notable actors like Aaditi Pohankar, Darshan Kumaar, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Vikram Kochhar, Tridha Choudhury, Anupriya Goenka, Rajeev Siddhartha, and Esha Gupta all make appearances in the series, which marked Bobby Deol's return to acting.
