About Border 2

A few months ago, Sunny Deol confirmed Border 2 on Instagram, sharing a video where he narrates that he promised to return 27 years ago, and now he finally is. The screen then reveals Border 2, confirming its production by T-Series and JP Films. Touted as India’s biggest war film, the sequel is expected to retain the original’s essence, featuring Sonu Nigam singing a new version of Sandese Aate Hain.

Much like Gadar 2, Border 2 may stay true to its predecessor’s nostalgic vibe. Deol announced, "Ek fauji apne 27 saal purane waade ko pura karne, aa raha hai phirse. India’s biggest war film, #Border2 Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta & Nidhi Dutta will be directed by Anurag Singh." Music will be composed by Anu Malik and Mithoon, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.

The plot remains under wraps, but Border 2 reportedly unfolds on the same night as the original film’s events. Directed by Anurag Singh, JP Films is targeting a Republic Day 2026 release. The 1997 film, directed by JP Dutta, starred Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Jackie Shroff, Pooja Bhatt, Rakhee, and Tabu. It remains unclear if anyone from the original cast, apart from Deol, will return.

Border 2 is slated for a Republic Day 2026 release. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more updates from the world of films and streaming.
