Bramayugam – Music composer Christo Xavier reveals Mammootty’s reaction to the film’s score

Bramayugam, the highly anticipated period horror thriller which features Mammootty in the lead role, hit the theatres on February 15, 2024. The movie, which is helmed by Bhoothakaalam fame director Rahul Sadasivan, has been receiving excellent responses from the audiences, and has already earned the blockbuster status. Not just the film, but the music score of Bramayugam, which is composed by Christo Xavier, has also highly impressed music lovers.

Christo Xavier reveals Mammootty’s reaction to Bramayugam score

The music director, who is the former assistant of renowned composer Sushin Shyam, also revealed that leading man Mammootty was highly impressed with the Bramayugam score. According to Christo Xavier, he met the megastar at the location of the film, during Onam celebrations, in 2023. After the meeting, he shared the much-loved ‘Potti theme’ from the playlist with the leading man. The veteran actor, who was highly impressed with the theme music, praised Christo’s work in a special message. Mammootty also shared his opinion with the rest of the team members.

In a recent interview with The Cue Studio, the young musician who got the first major break in his career with Bramayugam, extensively spoke about the film’s score. Christo Xavier, who revealed that he has done quite a lot of homework to compose the songs and theme music of the film, stated that director Rahul Sadasivan guided him throughout the process. According to the music director, recreating the era convincingly was the most challenging part of composing the music score for Bramayugam. He also revealed that ‘The Beginning’ was the most challenging composition from the playlist.

Bramayugam earns blockbuster status

Even though it is an out-and-out experimental film that has been made in the black-and-white format, Bramayugam has succeeded in impressing the audience across the globe. Mammootty, who appeared in the role of Kudamon Potti in the film, has been receiving rave reviews for his spectacular performance. Arjun Ashokan and Sidharth Bharathan, who played the other pivotal roles, have also impressed the audiences with their acting chops. The Rahul Sadasivan directorial is now set to release in four more languages, by the upcoming weekend.
