After Premalu set the box office ringing last February, another bunch of young stars in Bromance are vying to repeat the success this year. Premalu 2, starring Naslen, has already been announced. Keeping with the current trend of franchise films and second instalments, will Arjun Ashokan-starrer Bromance too have a sequel?

Arun D Jose on Bromance sequel?

Bromance, which stars Arjun Ashokan and Mathew Thomas in the lead roles along with Mahima Nambiar, will hit the theatres on February 14, 2025. During an interview with the Cue Studio, the Bromance director Arun D Jose was asked if the comedy caper will have a sequel.

The director replied with an affirmative ‘no’. And Sangeeth Prathap, who played Amal Davis in Premalu, also chipped in saying “Don’t worry, it will not show up at the last (end credits)."

Arun D Jose also shot down any suggestions for a spin-off, backstories or other installments of the movie, saying the story will end with Bromance.

Bromance cast

Arjun Ashokan, Mathew Thomas, Mahima Nambiar, Shyam Mohan and Sangeeth Prathap play the key roles in this movie, which is set to narrate a tale of brotherhood and friendship. Kalabhavan Shajohn and Binu Pappu are also part of the film, which was written by Raveesh Nath and Thomas P Sebastian.

Interestingly, Shyam Mohan and Sangeeth Prathap were part of Premalu and tasted instant popularity after the Naslen-Mamitha Baiju starrer hit the theatres in February 2024. Mathew Thomas was also a part of Premalu in an extended cameo role.

V-Day clash at the box office

Malayalam cinema is set to have an interesting Valentine’s Day as three films have lined up for release on February 14, 2025. Bromance is set to clash with Antony Varghese Pepe's Daveed and Sajin Gopu and Anaswara Rajan-starrer Painkili this V-day. Notably, Mammootty-starrer Bazooka was also slated for release on V-Day but now has been postponed to April 10, 2025. The megastar pulling out of the V-day race is good news for the young stars, and it remains to be seen who will win at the box office.
