Silambarasan, who made a grand comeback with Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu (streaming on SonyLIV) a few months ago, has been on a roll. He was roped in as the host for Bigg Boss Ultimate recently, replacing none other than Kamal Haasan as the latter got busy with his film commitments.
Fans of the actor were super excited to see him hosting the show every week. He also has Pathu Thala, Corona Kumar and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu in his kitty, apart from an extended cameo role in the long-delayed project Maha. Further, he is said to be in talks with Ram and Sudha Kongara.
But it is now heard that Corona Kumar, to be directed by Gokul, is likely to be dropped. According to the grapevine, a difference of opinion is said to have occurred between the actor and producer of the project. The film is the spiritual sequel to Vijay Sethupathi's Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar).
The title promo of the project was released in 2020, and a title song promo was unveiled last year by the makers. There have been exciting expectations on the project among film lovers ever since it was announced that Silambarasan is headlining the sequel.
Interestingly, Vels Film International, which has bankrolled the star's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, had agreed to produce Corona Kumar. The production house had earlier revealed that the Gautham Menon directorial will be out as a summer release in May.
An official confirmation on Corona Kumar's status is eagerly awaited by fans of Silambarasan. Many admirers of the actor have already expressed disappointment on the unconfirmed news on social media. They hope that everything will fall in place in the long run.
