Buzz: Sivakarthikeyan and Samantha to team up for the second time after Seemaraja

Ponram's Seemaraja which released in 2018 was the first project which brought Sivakarthikeyan and Samantha together. It looks like the two are now set to join hands again. Mandela (streaming on Netflix) fame Madonne Ashwin is planning to rope in the two stars to play lead roles in his forthcoming film.

It is heard that the project is locked and that the director has received confirmation from both of them. We hear that it's just a matter of time before the makers announce the film officially. Vels Film International, which has a few movies in their kitty, is bankrolling the untitled project.

It is also heard that the movie is likely to go on floors in August. Tentatively titled SK 22, Siva is expected to join the shooting of the movie after he completes SK 21 which has Rajkumar Periyasamy at the helm. The actor is currently busy with SK 20, the bilingual project which has Anudeep at its helm.

Siva was one of the first actors from Kollywood to congratulate Madonne after Mandela received positive response from audience and critics alike. The film starring Yogi Babu in the lead marked his debut as a filmmaker. It was considered as one of the best films to have been released in Tamil in 2021. Later, the director had hit headlines when Mandela was selected as one among the 14 movies that were shortlisted for India's official entry for Oscars 2022. 

On the other hand, Samantha, who has Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal releasing on April 28, is looking forward to Shaakuntalam and Yashoda. Her project with Varun Dhawan which will have her team up with Raj and DK after The Family Man is another much-awaited outing of hers.
