The most-anticipated first look, second look and third look from Vijay's forthcoming movie Varisu were unveiled on the star's birthday more than a month ago. The movie which is being helmed by Tollywood filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally has been slated for a theatrical release on Pongal 2023.
Rashmika Mandanna, Prabhu, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Shaam, Jayasudha, Srikanth and Yogi Babu among others play crucial characters in the film which will be released in Telugu as Vaarasudu. Dil Raju has been producing the project the shooting of which is happening at a brisk pace in Chennai and Hyderabad.
We now learn from a few trustable sources that Amazon Prime Video has bagged digital rights of the film while Sun TV has acquired its satellite rights. However, an official announcement can be expected only after makers come up with an update about the movie's theatrical release date.
Varisu is expected to elevate Vijay's market in Telugu states as the director is from Tollywood. This is the latter's second bilingual project after Nagarjuna- Karthi's Thozha which was released as Oopiri in Telugu. Billed as a family drama, Varisu is said to revolve around a business tycoon who sets out to settle disputes among his family members.
Karthick Palani and Praveen KL have been cranking the camera and editing the movie respectively while Thaman has come on board to compose music for the film. Hari and Ahishor Solomon have penned the screenplay along with Vamshi while Raju Sundaram and Shobi have jointly composed dance moves for Varisu.
Leading stunt choreographer duo Ram-Laxman are choreographing action sequences for the project which has dialogues and lyrics written by Vivek. Since Vijay's previous film Beast (streaming on Netflix) opened to mixed reports, fans of the star hope that Varisu would do wonders at the box office.
