Amala Paul in Cadaver

Amala Paul-starrer Cadaver, which has been bankrolled by the actress herself, was wrapped up last year. Its intriguing first look which was out earlier had piqued curiousity of film lovers. However, there hasn't been any update about the project for a while until a week ago when the makers announced that the movie is skipping theatrical release.

They have now come up with its trailer which also has an update on its release date, apart from offering a sneak peek into the film's genre. The mystery thriller directed by Anoop S Panicker will drop on Disney+ Hotstar on August 12.

Harish Uthaman, Athulya Ravi, Riythvika and Munishkanth among others essay important roles in the movie which revolves around a cold-blooded, but intelligent forensic surgeon who sets out to track down a serial killer on the loose. How she discovers clues and evidence despite a few unanticipated setbacks forms the rest of the story.

Abhilash Pillai has penned the screenplay for the investigative thriller which has cinematography by Aravind Singh, editing by San Lokesh and art direction by Rahul. Ranjin Raj and Vicky have handled music direction and action choreography respectively for Cadaver.

The movie will be Amala's first release this year following Tamil anthology Victim which will drop on SonyLIV on August 5, a week before Cadaver's arrival. The actress was earlier seen in OTT projects Kudi Yedamaithe and Pitta Kathalu which were released in Telugu.

Rathna Kumar's Aadai (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) was the actress' previous female-centric outing which had a theatrical release in 2019. Amala's upcoming projects include the most ambitious Malayalam movie Aadujeevitham, directed by Blessy and starring Prithviraj in the lead.
