Captain Miller: Shooting of the Dhanush-starrer halted after makers violate environmental regulations

The shooting of Arun Matheswaran's Captain Miller has been going on at a brisk pace near Tenkasi. Sathya Jyothi Films is bankrolling the action drama which has Dhanush playing the titular role in it. The project hit the headlines a few weeks ago when a leaked video from the shooting spot did the rounds.

Amid reports of the film hitting the screens for Deepavali, news from Tenkasi has brought its production to standstill. Apparently, the crew has flouted environmental regulations while filming a few intense action scenes in a village.

According to a source, the Tenkasi district collector has asked the crew to stop shooting after they were found to be violating a few norms. It is said that the team didn't obtain permission for constructing a wooden bridge across a canal in the village. This has led to damaging its banks.

They also lacked proper permission from the forest department and fire and safety rescue services for shooting in sensitive areas. A couple of videos of bomb blasts that happened in the location as part of shooting have been going viral on social media. As if this isn't enough, a few residents in the area received unfair treatment from the film crew.

Movie buffs are curious to know if the team will have to face serious action owing to the violations they indulged in. Billed as the biggest project in Dhanush's career, the movie marks director Arun's first full-fledged commercial film being made on a huge budget.

Shivarajkumar and Sundeep Kishan among others play pivotal characters in the film which has Priyanka Mohan essaying the female lead. An announcement of its release date is expected after the entire shooting is wrapped up.
