Director Shakti Soundar Rajan's forthcoming project, Captain, that stars Arya in the lead, was wrapped a while ago and makers had unveiled its first look recently. The first look poster hinted at the movie's genre, and the filmmaker had revealed that Arya is playing a never-before-seen character in the film.

Aishwarya Lekshmi, Simran, Kavya Shetty and Harish Uthaman among others essay important characters in the movie which has music composed by Imman. This is the second time the music director has teamed up with Arya-Shakti's collaboration. The trio earlier joined hands for Teddy which had a direct release on Disney+ Hotstar last year. 

Billed as an action thriller, the film is set for a theatrical release on September 8. Actor-politician Udhayanidhi had announced a couple of months ago that his home banner Red Giant Movies had acquired the theatrical rights of the movie.

Now, we have learnt that Zee5 has bagged the digital rights of the project; but an announcement on Captain's OTT release date can be expected only after a couple of weeks post its theatrical release. Similarly, Zee Tamil has bagged the movie's satellite rights. Arya's last outing, Aranmanai 3, too, was bagged by Zee5.

The team is all set to unveil its first single, titled Ninaivugal, today evening. Yuvan Shankar Raja has crooned for the song which has lyrics penned by Madhan Karky. S Yuva and Pradeep E Ragav have handled cinematography and editing respectively for Captain which has action choreography by R Sakti Saravanan.

According to makers, action scenes and technical aspects like cinematography will be a few highlights of the project. Captain was mostly shot in a few states in North India, apart from some major portions canned in Kulu Manali.
