CCL 2025: Will Darling Krishna be Season 11’s best batsman?

Darling Krishna is, no doubt, the trailblazer of the Celebrity Cricket League 2025, with a little under 300 runs to his credit in 3 matches so far, including an unbeaten century. The actor has one more group stage match pending and will be on the squad playing the semi-final too, so that’s at least 4 more innings in which he can add to that tally. In 2024 too, Krishna was leading the top batsmen list in the initial stages of the tournament, but then had a run of bad luck and eventually finished in third position, behind Jammy Banerjee and Rahul Mazumdar, both from the defending champions, Bengal Tigers’ team.

Seeing Krishna’s incredible form with the bat last year, netizens had commented that the actor was in the wrong profession and ought to be playing the game professionally. His century knock in a 10-over innings has given rise to a fresh course of messages that he should have been a cricketer.

Incredibly, though, Krishna is only 21 runs shy of his 2024 tournament total of 319 runs, having accumulated 298 already. In second position, right now, is Asgar Khan from the Bhojpuri Dabanggs, with 228 runs, followed by Shabir Ahluwalia from the Mumbai Heroes, at 205 runs, but he’s got only one more match, as they lost all their group stage matches and are, effectively, out of the tournament.

Then comes Jammy, and he has a long way to go, with only 167 runs in his tally. He too has at least 4 upcoming innings, to pile on more runs. Aditya Ojha, also from the Dabanggs is in 5th place, with 153 runs, after 1 win and 2 losses and with only 1 more match to determine if they make it to yet another semis or get knocked out in the group stage.
