Celebrity Cricket League 2025: Day 1 Bengaluru match schedule, rules, live streaming

The Celebrity Cricket League – the cricket tournament featuring members from 8 different film industries – is back for its 11thseason and starts off in Bengaluru on February 8 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The city will, however, host only two matches, with the next set on February 9 then moving to Delhi.

The first match of the tournament will have defending champions Bengal Tigers take on two-time winners Chennai Rhinos. The match will begin at 2 pm and go on till 6 pm. Jisshu Sengupta’s team includes Jammy Banerjee, who was the top scorer of the 2024 tournament, and literally powered his team to the win last year.

The second match of the day will have the crowd favourite home team in action. The Karnataka Bulldozers, led by skipper Kiccha Sudeep, face 4-time winners Telugu Warriors. Akhil Akkineni and his boys were denied a chance to be in last year’s play-offs by the Bulldozers, so they have a score to settle with the home team. In fact, Sudeep has predicted that the Telugu Warriors will put on a tough fight when they play each other at 6.30 pm.

This year too, the Celebrity Cricket League will follow the T20 match played in Test format, with the teams playing 2 innings of 10 overs each. The toss will be important in both matches, with the Bulldozers better off chasing than setting a target to defend. The tournament has a set of rules for the use of batsmen and bowlers in the top 3 positions and Power Play overs, respectively. For instance, the openers and the number 3 batsman of the first innings of a team, cannot play in that same order in the second innings.

Celebrity Cricket League matches will be streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar, while the broadcast partner is Sony Sports Ten3.
