It’s the finale week of Season 12 of the Celebrity Cricket League. Four teams have qualified to the semi-finals, namely, the Bengal Tigers, Karnataka Bulldozers, Kerala Strikers and Vels Chennai Kings. The Tigers and Bulldozers are heading into the semi-finals with a clean record, having won all their group stage matches. The Strikers managed two wins, including one that came by fluke owing to a rain disruption, wherein the Kings were left short of the total after DLS was implemented.
In fact, at that stage, it seemed that the Kings would be eliminated from the tournament, but then they bounced back fantastically, defeating the Mumbai Heroes with a massive margin, which pushed them above defending champions Punjab De Sher in terms of net run rate. According to the format followed by the Celebrity Cricket League, the No. 1 team plays the No.4 and the No. 2 against No. 3.

The first semi-final on January 31, 2026 is between the Bengal Tigers and the Kerala Strikers – former champs vs two-time runners up. The two teams have a 2:2 head-to-head record, but in their last two encounters, the Tigers have come out victorious, including this year. This match will be at 2 pm, streaming live on JioHotstar (available via OTTplay Premium also). The venue will, yet again, be the SNR College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore, which played host to the second leg of the group matches. This is, interestingly, where the Kings lost to the Strikers.
