Chaithra J Achar’s big Telugu break; bags Prabhas’ Fauzi

The big reveal on the occasion of Rebel Star Prabhas’ birthday on October 23 was the title of his maiden collaboration with filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi, whose last directorial venture was Sita Ramam. The film, as it turns out, has been titled Fauzi, and is set against the backdrop of colonial India in the 1940s. The first look poster showcases a burning, tattered British flag, signifying rebellion and resistance.

Moments after this big reveal, Kannada actress Chaithra J Achar joined in the celebration, announcing that she too is a part of the film. “Happy to be part of this beautiful creation of @hanurpudi sir. EXCITED!!! #PrabhasHanu is #FAUZI”, she wrote. The film also stars Imanvi, Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Bhanu Chander and Jayaprada in pivotal roles. The film will have a pan-India release with versions in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi as well.

The film will have music by Vishal Chandrashekar, who reunites with Hanu Raghavapudi yet again, after their previous collaboration, Sita Ramam. Sudeep Chatterjee handles cinematography. Fauzi will be Chaithra’s big Telugu break, even though her 2023 Kannada film Sapta Sagaradaache Ello Side B was dubbed in the language and was well received. The actress made her Tamil film debut recently with 3BHK, opposite Siddharth.

Chaithra, who was last seen in a cameo in Vritta, has a Kannada film up for release, called Maarnami, which will hit theatres on November 21. While Uttarakaanda is currently on hold, in Tamil, she’s got another project, My Lord, with Shashikumar.
