The other day, Raghava Lawrence revealed that team Chandramukhi 2 is set to commence its shooting in Mysore. He had also posted a couple of pictures along with Rajinikanth after seeking blessings from him. Now, Lyca Productions, which is producing the movie, has released a picture from the shooting location.

Director P Vasu, Lawrence, Vadivelu, Radhika Sarathkumar, Subiksha and Ravi Mariya among others are seen posing for a photo in the picture. MM Keeravani and RD Rajasekar are handling music composition and cinematography respectively for the project which is billed as a horror-comedy. Thota Tharani is another veteran who is part of the film as its production designer.

Fans of Rajinikanth are eager to know if Lawrence is playing the character essayed by the former in Chandramukhi which was released in 2005. Though there are many speculations regarding the movie's story, makers are yet to reveal if the sequel will have a completely new plot.

The project marks the reunion of Lawrence and Vasu after Shivalinga which was released in 2017. The horror flick was the remake of Shivaraj Kumar's Kannada film with the same title. Interestingly, P Vasu had helmed both the versions.

The female lead of Chandramukhi 2 is yet to be announced despite several names doing the rounds on social media. Lawrence's last outing was Kanchana 3 which was released in 2019. Kathiresan's Rudhran, which is slated for a theatrical release in December, will be his first outing in the pandemic.

Chandramukhi 2 is being planned as a theatrical release in 2023. Durga is another project of Lawrence which is likely to go on floors later this year. Though stunt choreographer duo Anbarivu was supposed to make their directorial debut with the movie, they backed off recently due to reasons best known to them.
