Chatha Pacha star Vishak Nair on chasing the film dream for his late brother: 'I am living for both of us'

Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies gave viewers a ‘pookie villain’ with actor Vishak Nair just nailing the role with a lot of swag and quirkiness. The actor is winning appreciation for his role as Cherian in the WWE wrestling-inspired Malayalam film. Recently, Vishak Nair shared how he started chasing the film dream, and it is a melancholic tale about his brother, whom he lost during his teenage years.

Vishak Nair on why he started chasing his film dream

Malayalam actor Vishak Nair, who made his debut with the film Aanandam 10 years ago, recently recollected his school days when he and his brother shot WWE videos and such with their camera. During an interview with Unfiltered with Aparna, the Chatha Pacha actors were asked about what inspired them. Vishak Nair replied, “For me, it was my brother.”

He recounted how and his brother started ‘making’ films together, based on the WWE fights and the movies like Anniyan they saw. The initiative expanded as their friends also joined them.

“When I was 15-16, he passed away. I was pretty down, and my friends came to me and said, ‘let’s do something’. Then we made a film, I was into direction then,” the actor recounted.

The Aanandam actor further stated that they screened the film at the school annual day function, which was a resounding success.

“That was the moment I decided to follow it. But till now, I believe, that I am living for both of us. He was the extrovert, the better actor, singer/dancer," said the young actor.

Vishak, who had been the studious among the siblings with IIT-MBA aspirations, then decided to do something that his brother was also passionate about and chose films over academics. Vishak studied at the National Institute of Technology, Surathkal.
