Sourav Chakraborty is not known to tell ‘run-of-the-mill’ stories. Last year, he impressed us with Rajneeti. Now he is all set to present another story, Chemistry Mashi, through which, Debashree Roy is making a comeback in the Bengali entertainment industry.

The trailer of Chemistry Mashi was dropped on January 24 and it feels like a whiff of fresh air. It has a simple storyline that is way more than a regular family drama. Sucharita Lahiri, played by Debashree, starts her channel to teach chemistry to young students. His channel becomes an instant hit. A high-flying coaching centre, which practices the philosophy of monopoly in the market, gets threatened by Sucharita’s popularity and she gets trapped in a conspiracy.

The plot seems simple and the characters are likeable. It sends out a strong vibe of women empowerment and social equality. The trailer hints at grim consequences but the presentation looks attractive. Debashree looks graceful and effortless in the video, while the other characters seem to be convincing. In an earlier statement, the actress said, “At first, coming back in front of the camera after a long hiatus feels like a breath of fresh air. However, this time, the medium has changed – it's on OTT and will be at everyone’s fingertips instead of movie theatres. It’s a new adventure for me, leading to a mix of excitement and nervous anticipation.”

The trailer genuinely creates interest to look forward to this show. It will be intriguing to see how the real show pans out. Chemistry Mashi will be dropped on Hoichoi on February 14.
