Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi expressed gratitude and joy on Sunday after a meeting with Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar at his residence. Touched by Shivanna's gesture of travelling from Bengaluru to Hyderabad to personally congratulate him on winning the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award , Chiranjeevi shared photos from the meeting, revealing a nostalgic journey down memory lane in the Indian film industry.

"Very touched that my dear @NimmaShivanna came all the way from Bangalore to congratulate me Spent some wonderful time over lunch and fondly recalled our association and so many cherished memories with the Legendary Rajkumar garu and his entire family. Delighted," said Chiranjeevi.

India's second-highest civilian for Chiranjeevi

The Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award, was bestowed upon Chiranjeevi in recognition of his outstanding lifetime achievements and significant contributions to Indian cinema throughout his illustrious career, spanning over four decades. Chiranjeevi has left an indelible mark on the Indian cinematic landscape, enchanting audiences with his versatile performances and magnetic screen presence.

Chiranjeevi also holds the unique distinction of being only the second Telugu star to be honoured with Padma Vibhushan, besides late movie icon Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

Chiranjeevi basking in compliments

Shivanna is probably the first non-Telugu star of his stature to have personally met and congratulated Chiranjeevi after he was picked for the coveted award by the Indian government.

Recently, the newly formed Telangana government held a grand event to honour Chiranjeevi for this achievement. At the event, Chiranjeevi attributed his philanthropic work, especially during the Covid-19 crisis, to playing a significant role in earning this honour. He pledged to continue serving society while entertaining his fans with movies.

Chiranjeevi is gearing up to start shooting for Vishwambhara, a fantasy drama written and directed by Mallidi Vasishta. The film is expected to hit cinemas in 2025.
