Chiranjeevi thanks audience for their love towards Godfather, opens up on the film's box office numbers

Chiranjeevi-starrer Godfather, one of the biggest movies in Telugu this year, hit the screens on October 5. The movie directed by Mohan Raja has opened to decent response from movie buffs and the audience. Though it is the remake of Malayalam movie Lucifer, the makers have tweaked it to suit the nativity of Tollywood audience.

The other day, Chiranjeevi took to his social media page to thank Salman Khan for his contribution to the film. The Bollywood megastar had played a cameo in the movie, and the latter, too, had congratulated the former on its grand opening.

The Telugu megastar has now come up with a video thanking the audience for their love towards Godfather and said that 600 screens have been added in the Hindi market after learning that the Hindi version garnered encouraging response from viewers.

He said, "Thank you so much for showering love on our film Godfather. I'm really humbled by the love. The film has made 69 crores in two days of its release. I'm told that another 600 screens have been added in the Hindi belt. This has truly become a pan Indian project. I would like to thank the audience and fans."

The movie has been raking in impressive numbers at the US box office as well. Though Godfather is expected to surpass the collection of his previous outing Acharya, trade pundits say it is unlikely to outdo the numbers made by Khaidi No 150 and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, two movies of the star which were released after his return to the industry post his 10-year hiatus.

Chiranjeevi will next be seen in Bobby's Mega 154 (tentative title) which will hit the screens in January 2023. Meher Ramesh's Bholaa Shankar is another forthcoming project of his which is slated for a release on April 14, 2023.
