Actor Siddharth has been busy promoting his recent release Chiththa, which revolves around the relationship between an uncle and his niece. The film, helmed by SU Arun Kumar, hit screens on September 28, and has opened to positive reviews.

Siddharth roasts Gen Z in style
During one of the promotions of the film, the actor spoke about Gen Z and the words that they commonly use- vibe and cringe. Siddharth also said that the entire generation was failing his vibe check.

"You guys are killing everyone while you are all still young by constantly calling yourself Gen Z. This whole generation is failing my vibe check. I have a lot of expectations from you. But frankly, this whole generation knows only two words- vibe and cringe. You guys are confining the entire human civilization spanning 10,000 years within these two words. That shouldn't be the case. If you say this interview and the vibe check has passed, you are being cringe. Let's avoid being cringe and using the word vibe."

The video has become a hit on the internet and has found many takers, especially the preceding generations of millenials and Gen X.

Chithha opens to great word of mouth
Siddharth's emotional hard-hitting drama has opened to great reviews. OTTplay critic wrote, "Chithha is one of the must-watch films of the year, thanks to the terrific performances from lead actors, intriguing screenplay and the originality with which a sensitive subject is handled."

The film has also received praise from Kamal Haasan, filmmakers Mani Ratnam, Vetri Maaran, Pushkar and Gayatri, Premkumar, to name a few. Kamal Haasan even went on to call Chithha, a better film than his own iconic film Mahanadhi.

Cast and crew
Chiththa marks the debut of The Great Indian Kitchen actress Nimisha Sajayan in Tamil. Music for the film is by Dhibu Ninan Thomas and Vishal Chandrasekhar. While Balaji Subramanyam has handled the cinematography, editing is by Suresh A Prasad. Yugabharathi has penned lyrics for songs along with the director Arun Kumar. The film is bankrolled by Siddharth's own production house, Etaki Entertainment.
