Actor Siddharth's upcoming film, Chithha is gearing up for release on September 28. Chithha is a hard-hitting emotional drama, helmed by SU Arun Kumar. Here's all you need to know about the film.

The power-packed teaser
The film's plot revolves around the relationship between an uncle and his school-going niece. But, an unexpected incident turns their lives upside down, they need to muster all their courage to brave the odds. How they get back on their feet, forms the crux of the story.

The Kamal Haasan connection
The film's announcement was released by none other than Siddharth's mentor, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan. During the promotions, Siddharth said, "I consider Kamal Haasan sir releasing the video as a huge honour. He was the one who set the ball rolling for Chithha."

The film also received praise from ace directors Mani Ratnam, Vetri Maaran and Prem Kumar. The latest to join the list are the makers of Vikram Vedha, Pushkar and Gayatri. All the directors stated that Chithha was a film to watch out for and appreciated the performances of one and all.

Cast and crew
Chiththa also stars The Great Indian Kitchen actress Nimisha Sajayan, marking her debut in Tamil. Dhibu Ninan Thomas has churned out the songs, while Vishal Chandrasekhar has composed the background score. Balaji Subramanyam has handled the cinematography, and Suresh A Prasad is in charge of the editing. Yugabharathi has penned lyrics for songs along with director Arun Kumar. Red Giant Movies has bagged the theatrical rights of the film in Tamil Nadu, and will be distributing across the state.

A September 2023 Release
Chithha is Siddharth's second outing this year after the long-delayed Takkar, which opened to negative reviews. Siddharth himself has bankrolled the project under Etaki Entertainment.The film will lock horns with Raghava Lawrence's Chandramukhi 2 and Jayam Ravi's Iraivan.
