Chithha star Siddharth says Kamal Haasan releasing the film's announcement video, a huge honour

Actor Siddharth's upcoming film, Chithha is gearing up for release on September 28. The film will lock horns with Raghava Lawrence's Chandramukhi 2 and Jayam Ravi's Iraivan. Chithha is a hard-hitting emotional drama, helmed by SU Arun Kumar.

Emotional thriller around relationships
The film's plot revolves around the relationship between an uncle and his niece. But when an unexpected incident turns their lives upside down, they need to muster all the grit and determination to brave the odds. Siddharth himself has bankrolled the project under Etaki Entertainment. Chiththa also stars The Great Indian Kitchen actress Nimisha Sajayan.

During the promotions for the film, Siddharth said, "I consider Kamal Haasan sir releasing the announcement video as a huge honour. He was the one who set the ball rolling for the film. I remember when we had just finished the censor certification of the film, Kamal Haasan sir was there. Kamal sir, Arun and I spent a long time talking to him. Mani Ratnam sir, who watched the film, also took out some time to talk about the film. When people whom we worship watch out film and talk about the film, it's a different feeling altogether."

Vetri Maaran, Premkumar shower praise on Chithha
Vetri Maaran said that the film offers ample moments that are likely to connect with every audience. Director Premkumar of 96 fame and SP Sakthivel of Payanigal Gavanikkavum, too, were all praise for Chithha.

Technical team
While Dhibu Ninan Thomas has composed songs, Vishal Chandrasekhar is in charge of the background score. Balaji Subramanyam is in charge of the cinematography, and Suresh A Prasad has handled the editing. Yugabharathi has penned lyrics for songs along with director Arun Kumar.Red Giant Movies has bagged the theatrical rights of the film in Tamil Nadu.
