Action choreographer Stunt Silva had announced his directorial debut, Chithirai Sevvaanam, starring Samuthirakani and Pooja Kannan, recently. Dhanush had unveiled the project's first look and Mohanlal released the movie's motion poster. Now, Sivakarthikeyan has released the film's trailer through his Twitter handle.
The two-minute trailer provides a glimpse into the story of the family drama. Samuthirakani plays Muthupandi, a farmer whose life revolves around his daughter Aishwarya. He wants her to be a responsible doctor and hopes that she will fulfill his wish. But fate had other plans for them.
Aishwarya goes missing after she joins a new hostel, far away in a city. According to the investigation by a cop played by Rima Kallingal, it is revealed that she goes missing after a video featuring her became viral on social media. Nizhalgal Ravi will also be seen essaying a crucial role in the movie.
Going by the trailer, Chithirai Sevvaanam seems to have touched upon the topic of NEET entrance exam, too. which is quite controversial in Tamil Nadu. The trailer ends with Rima's character uttering the lines 'Now a days, social media is becoming suicidal media'.
Director Vijay has written the story for the film which has editing by Praveen KL and music by Sam CS. Manoj Paramahamsa and KG Venkatesh have cranked the camera for the project which was completed in a single schedule in and around Coimbatore earlier this year.
The film will have a direct-to-OTT release on Zee5 on December 3. Samuthirakani's previous outing, Vinodhaya Sitham, which had him at the helm, also had a direct release on Zee5 a month ago. Chithirai Sevvaanam marks Rima Kallingal's comeback to Tamil and Pooja Kannan's debut project.
