Actor Anna Ben who was last seen in Tamil film Kottukkaali, has announced a new film. The first look poster of the film titled Coimbatore Mappillaii was released by Lokesh Kanagaraj on social media on Saturday for the occasion of Valentine’s Day.
Coimbatore Mappillaii: What is Anna Ben’s film about?
The first look poster of the upcoming film Coimbatore Mappillaii was released on Saturday. The film is written and directed by Kishore Rajkumar, who is also starring in the lead role. Anna Ben plays the female lead. Notably, Coimbatore Mappillai is the title of the 1996 Tamil romantic comedy drama starring Vijay and Sanghavi and considered the breakthrough film in Vijay’s career.
The poster shows Kishore with a rose in his mouth as he is in the arms of Anna Ben and duo strikes a pose. Kishore has earlier helmed Naai Sekhar with Sathish in the lead role. Touted to be a romantic comedy, the film's technical crew includes Praveen Balu cranking the camera and Ram Pandian as the editor. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.

What is Anna Ben’s next film?
Anna Ben is also doing another film in Tamil, besides Coimbatore Mappillaii. It was earlier announced that Anna Ben will be part of Con City, a family entertainer which will also star Arjun Das, Vadivikarasi Yogi Babu and others. It is helmed by Harish Durairaj in his debut with a release date yet to be announced.
Meanwhile, Anna Ben was last seen in Kottukkaali, a searing drama directed by PS Vinothraj and co-starring Soori. It marked the Tamil debut of Anna Ben, who played a young woman silenced and oppressed by her family for loving someone out of their caste. Anna Ben was also seen playing a cameo in Malayalam blockbuster Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. Both the films are available to stream via OTTplay Premium.
