With February here, and new week to begin, it warrants for more new releases both in theatres and on streaming platforms. While the release of Jana Nayagan is still in debate, some films have already lined up for release this week. Here is a list of everything you can watch:
Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil – Netflix (February 12)
Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil is a Tamil comedy drama directed by Nithish Sahadev in his Tamil debut. The film revolves around Jeevarathinam, a village panchayat president who is entrusted with overseeing a wedding in his locality. However, what appears to be first a routine task as local leader soon turns chaotic when a death occurs in a neighbouring house, leading to tensions as both families insist on conducting a funeral and wedding simultaneously. Jiiva plays the lead role, with actors Thambi Ramaiah, Ilavarasu, Prathana Nathan, Jensen Dhivakar, Jaiwanth and others in supporting characters.
Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu – ZEE5 via OTTplay Premium (February 11)
Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is a 2026 Telugu action-comedy family entertainer helmed by Anil Ravipudi. The story follows the titular character, an NIA officer who is juggling his professional duty of protecting a high-profile family with his personal life, as he tries to reconnect with his estranged wife and children. He soon tries to combine both his responsibilities by turning a mission into an emotional journey of reunion and redemption. With Chiranjeevi playing the lead and Nayanthara as his pair, Venkatesh Daggubati also makes a special appearance. Catherine Tresa, Sachin Khedekar, Sharat Saxena, Harsh Vardhan and others are also part of the film.
Pookie – Theatres (February 13)
Pookie is an upcoming Tamil romantic drama. Produced by Vijay Antony, the film is directed by Ganesh Chandra, who also handled the cinematography. It stars Ajay Dhishan, who was seen in Maargan, and RK Dhanusha in the lead roles. Pookie is written by Puthiya Parithi and features an ensemble cast including Pandiarajan, Sunil, Lakshmi Manchu and others. Promising a mix of youthful romance, humour and emotion, Vijay Antony has also composed and edited the film.
My Lord – Theatres (February 13)
My Lord is an upcoming Tamil social drama written and directed by Raju Murugan. The story is set in a village and centres on a man who somehow gets involved in organ trafficking ring. The film stars M. Sasikumar as the protagonist alongside Chaithra J Achar in the lead roles, with Asha Sharath, Guru Somasundaram, Jayaprakash, Gopi Nainar and Vasumithra in supporting roles.
Seetha Payanam – Theatres (February 14)
Seetha Payanam is a romantic drama written and directed by Arjun Sarja. The film showcases the evolving relationship between a couple, as it explores the themes of emotions, romance and personal journey. Aishwarya Arjun and Niranjan Sudhindra play the lead roles, while Dhruva Sarja makes a guest appearance. Actors Prakash Raj, Sathyaraj and Kovai Sarala feature in supporting parts.
Anaganaga Oka Raju – Netflix (February 11)
Anaganaga Oka Raju is a 2026 Telugu comedy-drama directed by Maari. The film centres on Raju, an heir to a zamindar who once was rich. While Raju suffers financially, he maintains a rich facade outside. While seeking a wealthy bride for himself, Raju only finds him in more trouble further. It stars Naveen Polishetty and Meenakshi Chaudhary.
