Confirmed: Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj's gangster drama Thalapathy 67 is Mumbai bound

Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj

Much has been written about Vijay joining hands with Lokesh Kanagaraj for the second time, albeit an official confirmation about the project is yet to be announced. Though Vijay is currently busy with Varisu in Vizag, his fans seem to be more interested in the film with Lokesh which is tentatively titled Thalapathy 67.

Many speculations have been doing the rounds on the project with regard to its cast and story. Though it is billed as a gangster drama, Lokesh is tight-lipped about the movie and has informed a few times that a proper announcement will be made at the right time. A few days ago, he also announced about taking a break from social media.

There were unconfirmed reports that the movie's story will have Mumbai as its backdrop. It is now confirmed as one of the ADs of Lokesh took to his Instagram page to share that location hunt for the project is on and that the direction team is currently in Mumbai.

This has made Vijay fans excited; this is also the first official update about the film which is said to be bankrolled by Seven Screen Studio which also produced Vijay-Lokesh's first outing Master. One of the many aspects which movie lovers are looking forward to from the announcement of Thalapathy 67 is its music director.

Though it is expected that Anirudh will be part of the film, thanks to his chartbuster songs and background score for Lokesh's previous outings, Master and Vikram, fans are keeping their fingers crossed.

The young composer has earlier worked for Vijay's Kaththi, Master and Beast, and fans of the latter, too, prefer the former as the musician for Thalapathy 67 because of his current form. Fahadh Faasil's character Amar from Vikram is likely to appear in the movie though a confirmation is awaited.
