The digital rights of Regina Cassandra and Sathish's upcoming film Conjuring Kannappan has been bagged by Netflix. The film is directed by debutant Selvin Raj Xavier, who has also penned the screenplay, story and dialogues.
Archana Kalpathi on Netflix being the digital partner
The film is bankrolled by AGS Production. Taking to her social media handle, Archana Kalpathi shared her excitement about Netflix being the digital partner. "As a production house we believe in content and backing new talent After Love Today we are super happy to associate with NETFLIX as our digital partner for #ConjuringKannappan @Netflix_INSouth @NetflixIndia @Ags_production @selvinrajxavier @thisisysr @actorsathish (sic)."
Selvin Raj Xavier on his maiden venture
Selvin Raj Xavier had worked as an assistant to Chimbu Deven and Sumanth Radhakrishnan. Talking about his maiden venture, the director said that the film will give the audience a different experience. He added that the film is a mixture of comedy, horror and fantasy and that it will appeal to all age groups. "Especially children will enjoy this film a lot." Conjuring Kannappan has been shot in Chennai on huge sets resembling ancient buildings.
The supporting cast includes Nassar, Saranya Ponvannan, Anand Raj, VTV Ganesh, Redin Kingsley and Namo Narayanan, to name a few. The film also has foreign actors including Elli Avr Ram, Jason Shaw and Benedict Garrett. Music for the film is by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
AGS Productions begins shoot of Thalapathy Vijay
The production house has begun the filming for their next, which is tentatively being referred to as Thalapathy 68. The film, which stars Vijay in the lead, is directed by Venkat Prabhu. The pooja video was released recently where the entire cast and crew was seen, which includes Mic Mohan, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Laila, Mohan, Jayaram, Ajmal Amir, Yogi Babu, VTV and Ganesh in supporting roles. Thalapathy 68 marks AGS Production's 25th film.
