The makers of Connect had unveiled its terrifying teaser a few days ago on the birthday of Nayanthara, who plays the lead in it. The movie, helmed by Ashwin Saravanan, was expected to hit the screens in December. The team has now officially announced that the project will be released in theatres on December 22.

They have also revealed that the film has bagged U/A certificate from the Censor Board. Interestingly, the movie with a run time of 99 minutes will not have an intermission.

Vignesh Shivan's Rowdy Pictures has bankrolled Connect which stars Sathyaraj and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles. The movie marks the Bollywood veteran's return to Kollywood after several years. Vinay Rai is another actor who essays a significant character in the film.

This is the first venture of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan to release in theatres after their official wedding which happened earlier this year. It also marks the reunion of filmmaker Ashwin and Nayanthara after the successful project Maya which was released in 2015. Its story revolves around a young woman who has been influenced by an evil spirit. How a few people attempt to rescue her forms the rest of the story.

Manikantan Krishnamachary has cranked the camera for the film which has music composed by Prithvi Chandrasekhar. Richard Kevin is in charge of editing while Sreeraman and Siva Sankar have jointly helmed art direction. Sachin Sudhakaran and Hariharan M have handled sound designing.

Real Satish's action choreography is expected to be one of the highlights of Connect which is riding on good expectations among fans of horror flicks. Ashwin's previous outing, Game Over, was a critically acclaimed attempt and he has the long-delayed Iravaakaalam in his kitty.
