One of 2024's underrated shows Connection is finally available in India. The K-Drama, which grabbed eyeballs upon its release in 2024, is now out on OTT a year later for the Indian viewers. The show is a psychological-thriller which ended at the high rating of 14.2%, according to AGB Nielson. The much-loved show gained momentum from its fourth episode. Here's everything to know...
Connection is now out on Netflix India. The K-Drama is likely to get noticed on the platform soon enough for its strong content, and since it is the first time that Indians can view it since the airing in 2024.
An ace detective Jang Jae-kyeong (Ji Sung) is socially aloof, to the extent that he even stays away from his family members when he senses trouble. Despite being someone with strong principles, his world turns upside down. This causes him to consume drugs and it gets to a point where he is now addicted to them. One day, his friend turns up dead. Taking it as a learning, he tells his tale of a corrupt friendship of 20 years. That is how he meets reporter Oh Yoon-jin (Jeon Mi-do) who wishes to bring his story to the fore. She also has her own secrets to share.
The drama also features Jung Yoo-min, Kwon Yul, Kim Kyung-nam, Kim Min-ju, Jung Jae-kwang, Jung Soon-won, Yoon Na-moo, Jang Hyuk-jin and Jung Soon Won among others.
Connection released in 2024, which is the year when dramas like Queen of Tears and Lovely Runner ruled on OTT. While Queen of Tears got instant fame because it released on Netflix worldwide, Lovely Runner gained popularity and then landed on the streamer two months after airing on Korean TV. Many other K-Dramas were received well, but none came close to the two dramas which were about eternal love, a concept deeply associated with K-Dramas. Nonetheless, thrillers and crime also gained slow popularity in the year (biggest example being The Judge From Hell) and thus, Connection ended up being an underrated K-Drama of 2024, but it did get its due in the country.
