With just less than two days to go for the release of Coolie, the Tamil Nadu government has issued a special order permitting the makers to run five shows a day on the first day. However, as usual, the government has allowed the first show to begin only at 9 am, with five shows slotted until 2 am.
The Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie is gearing up for release. The much-anticipated Tamil film is barely only two days away from release, on August 14. Ahead of this, the Tamil Nadu state government has issued an order allowing the makers to host five shows on the day of release only.

However, this does not allow Tamil Nadu to start early shows like its neighbouring states. While states like Karnataka, Kerala and Telangana are having shows as early as 6 am, the shows in Tamil Nadu will only start at 9 am, with the last show to end at 2 am, making theatre owners to squeeze in five shows. This applies to the day of release, August 14, only.
Coolie is expected to be the record breaker of sorts for Tamil cinema this year, and anticipations are high for the film to make Rs 1000 crore. With the shows housefull for the first day across country, Coolie has been certified A, meaning it is a film that can be watched by adults over 18 years only.

Coolie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and stars Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and others. The film is produced by Sun Pictures and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Coolie comes at the time when Rajinikanth has completed 50 years into the industry as an actor. The action thriller will be clashing at the box office with Hindi film War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR.
