Coolie trailer out: Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj film has guns blazing, a secret about a man kept away for 30 years

The trailer of Coolie is unleashed! With only less than two weeks left for the release of the Rajinikanth-starrer to hit big screens, Lokesh Kanagaraj and team unveiled the much-anticipated glimpse from the action thriller on Saturday.

Undoubtedly scores of fans had been waiting for the release of Coolie trailer and after much waiting, it is now unveiled. The trailer of Coolie took place at a launch event held on Saturday in Chennai. Slated for a theatrical release on August 14, the film is headlined by Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.

The trailer of Coolie begins with Nagarjuna's voice saying that a man once born has it written all over on whose hands he will die by. Soon, we hear someone saying about taking someone off the world without any trace, as the scene shifts to introducing a network of powerful gangsters. Glimpses of the star-studded cast is shown, as action set pieces galore. It is at this time Sathyaraj introduces Rajinikanth who is seems to be kept off the world for 30 years. Packed with introduction scenes, guns blazing, and some emotional scenes. Rajinikanth is seen in calm demeanour but does that not mean the film isn't power packed.

Coolie is an action thriller produced by Sun Pictures. It has music by Anirudh Ravichander, a close collaborator of both Rajinikanth and Lokesh. While Coolie is confirmed to be outside LCU, the hype for the film has only been increasing every passing day. One of the main reasons is its star-studded ensemble including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Aamir Khan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan and Pooja Hegde in a dance appearance.

In what came off as a surprise, the makers of Coolie have taken a daring step with the film censored A. This means only adults will be able to watch the film, breaking Rajinikanth’s three-decade old streak of being family friendly. Meanwhile, it is first in Lokesh’s filmography.

Lokesh had earlier said that there is “no compromise on violence” in Coolie, making it not children-friendly. This means, theatres might see less of family audience, and but the makers decision remains to be seen if it is for film’s benefit. Coolie will release on August 14 and will collide with Hindi film War 2 featuring Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR. With cinematography handled by Girish Gangadharan and editing by Philomin Raj, Coolie is expected to have IMAX shows.
