Coolie is undoubtedly one of the much-expected Tamil film right now. Headlined by actor Rajinikanth and directed by filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film features a star ensemble. And it has just got better, with the makers officially confirming that Hindi actor Aamir Khan is also part of the cast.

With Rajinikanth leading Coolie, the upcoming Tamil film is touted to be an action thriller, a genre that Lokesh Kanagaraj is known for. Even as the makers wanted to keep it a secret, the cat is already out of the bag and that Aamir Khan is part of the cast. The Sitaare Zameen Par actor had also confirmed recently, while promoting his recent film.
To make things official, the makers of Coolie unveiled a huge update on Thursday. Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth last starred in the 1995 Hindi film Aatank Hi Aatank, and their reunion after over three decades is much-awaited by fans of both the actors. The makers revealed Aamir Khan's poster who will be playing the character called Dahaa in the film. The black and white poster features the side profile of the actor as he smokes his cigar with a banniyan on, and a gold watch. Aamir Khan is expected to make a cameo during the climax.
The makers have already begun the promotions for Coolie, by releasing the first single Chikitu. The music is scored by Anirudh Ravichander.

Backed by production banner Sun Pictures, Coolie features an ensemble star cast from actors from all languages. Apart from Aamir Khan, the cast also includes Nagarjuna, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, and others. Touted to be an action thriller, Coolie is scheduled to hit theatres on August 14, for the Independence Day weekend. The anticipation is high about the film, given that it marks the first collaboration between Lokesh and Rajinikanth. Coolie will not fall under LCU brand of films.
