Crazxy out on OTT: Stream Sohum Shah's nerve-wracking thriller—but at a price

Now you can rent the psychological thriller Crazxy starring Sohum Shah on Prime Video, following its intensive theatrical run earlier this year, which created excitement at ₹349. This film, Girish Kohli's first feature movie, premiered on February 28 and was a critical and commercial success because of its riveting one-man story, which starred Shah as surgeon Abhimanyu Sood, whose life takes a dramatic change after receiving a single phone call.

Crazxy is now available for a short time exclusively on Prime Video. It will be two weeks later, on April 25, 2025, before the film's official OTT launch, when all subscribers will be able to access it for free.

An intense, high-stakes thriller unfolding over the span of a single, terrifying night, Crazxy was produced by Sohum Shah, Mukesh Shah, Amita Shah, and Adesh Prasad under the label of Sohum Shah Films. Renown surgeon Abhimanyu Sood is being followed in the tale as he is on his way to deliver ₹5 crores, which is part of a clandestine settlement that could absolve him of a criminal sentence. But he has to go through a complicated mental and psychological labyrinth to save his teenage daughter Vedica after receiving a terrifying phone telling him that she has been abducted—and that the ransom is the exact money he is carrying.

Though it shares certain similarities with foreign one-actor thrillers like Locke and Buried due to its singular narrative structure, the film stands out due to the Indian emotional and conceptual layers it employs. Critics have praised Sohum Shah's performance, calling it one of his best, and applauding his ability to convey both tenderness and tension.

Girish Kohli's Crazxy was a long-awaited film in the works. In 2019, after sharing the script with Shah (who is known for his role in Tumbbad and Maharani), the actor-producer chose to self-finance the film. Contributing to the film's artistic value are the cinematography of Sunil Borkar and Kuldeep Mamania, the meticulous editing of Sanyukta Kaza and Rythem Lath, and the moving original score composed by Jesper Kyd. Vishal Bhardwaj, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, The Red Kettle, Manan Bhardwaj, KhullarG, Yeah Proof, Harshavardhan Rameshwar, and Osho Jain are among the many artists whose varied songs can be heard on the soundtrack.
