D Block release date: When and where to watch the Arulnithi-starrer murder mystery online

Arulnithi's D Block which released in theatres a month ago, on July 1, was his first outing this year. Vijay Kumar Rajendran has directed the project which is billed as a murder mystery which revolves around an engineering college.

Avantika Mishra plays the female lead in the movie which has Karu Palaniappan, Thalaivasal Vijay, Ramesh Khanna and Charandeep among others essaying important characters in it. Aravinnd Singh, who has cranked the camera for the movie, has bankrolled the project as well under his banner MNM Films. Arulnithi has been someone who chooses films with different subjects and intriguing screenplays, but D Block garnered mixed response among film lovers and critics.

What's D Block about?

The film's plot revolves around an engineering college in Coimbatore district which is situated near a dense forest. A series of murders happen in a specific department of the college hostel, leaving students and others terrified. How one of the college students set out to find the mysterious reason behind the killings forms the rest of the story.

Though the story of D Block received appreciation for its novelty, its lackluster screenplay, underwritten characters and a weak latter half tested the patience of the audience.  

When and where to watch D Block online?

The movie has started streaming on Amazon Prime Video from August 1, exactly a month after its theatrical release. However, there wasn't any prior announcement on the film dropping on the leading OTT platform. Ron Ethan Yohann and Kaushik Krish have composed songs and background score respectively for D Block.

Ganesh Siva has edited the movie while Veeramani Ganesan has helmed art direction for the project. Pradeep Dinesh has composed action scenes and director Vijay himself has choreographed dance moves.
