The two-minute trailer of Vijay Kumar Rajendran's D Block has been unveiled by directors Venkat Prabhu, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Nelson Dilipkumar sometime ago. Starring Arulnithi and Avantika in lead roles, the movie's story revolves around a college hostel which is situated near a forest.

The film's plot is based on a slew of horrifying incidents, involving a few mysterious deaths and man missing cases. How a few students, under the leadership of the protagonist set out to crack the mystery, forms the rest of the story. Karu Palaniappan, Thalaivasal Vijay, Ramesh Khanna and Uma Riyaz among others play key roles in the movie.

Cinematographer Aravinnd Singh has produced the movie while Ganesh Siva and Ron Ethan Yohann have edited and composed music for the project respectively. Pradeep Dinesh has choreographed action scenes for the film while director Vijay Kumar Rajendran himself has composed dance movements.

Director Pandiraj had released the first look of D Block a few months ago, on Arulnithi's birthday. The female lead Avantika Mishra was last seen in Kollywood in Enna Solla Pogirai which released in theatres a few days ago.

Arulnithi, who is known for choosing unique subjects, was last seen in Kalathil Santhippom (streaming on Zee5), which had a theatrical release an year ago. He has headlined many thriller films before and D Block is the latest in the list. 

Mouna Guru (streaming on Sun NXT, Jio Cinema and MX Player), Demonte Colony (streaming on MX Player and Jio Cinema), Aarathu Sinam (streaming on MX Player), Iravukku Aayiram Kangal (streaming on MX Player, Jio Cinema and Sun NXT) and K-13 (streaming on MX Player, Jio Cinema and Sun NXT) are the films that belonged to thriller genre which the actor has been part of in the past.
